Virmetta's Quilt
VIrmetta was someone in my church that had a very hard life. One day when I was watching her kneel at the altar rail, I heard a voice in my head saying, "make Virmetta a quilt". This was not something I particularly wanted to do, but the voice persisted. The next day I was looking at a quilting magazine, and the thought hit me that this was the perfect quilt for Virmetta. I finally listened and made this quilt, and she loved it.
I stipple-quilted all over the quilt, with flowers and leaves interspersed.
I machine-appliqued the flowers and leaves with metallic thread.
