Thread

Thread is an additional charge, based on the amount used and ranges from a few dollars to $30+ for a king sized quilt with custom quilting.  I carry the complete line of Superior Rainbow variegated thread and a good selection of Superior So Fine thread.  See Superior's website or let me help you select colors that will enhance your quilt.

Batting

Quilter's Dream batting is available by the linear inch.  Available batts on the roll include:
Blend - 70% cotton, 30% polyester, Request thickness, 93" wide - this has a lovely soft drape with
   the feel cotton
Poly - 100% polyester, Request thickness, 93" or 122" wide, also very soft drape
Green - 100% polyester, 93" wide, very soft drape, made from recycled soda bottles.  Great for the environment!  Your queen size batting saves 20 bottles from the landfill!
Puff - 100% polyester, 93" wide - very puffy, warmer than down
I can order any Quilter's Dream batt for you, including 100% cotton, wool or flame retardant.

Available Pantographs

Edge to edge designs (pantographs) are available for use at no charge.  Click here to see available patterns

Want a different pattern?  Julia can order for a small charge.  Good sites for pantographs:

What makes an easy panto?
  • Organic shapes (flowers, leaves - nature is never exactly the same)
  • Open design; lines not too close together (usually > 1" apart between design elements)
  • Large pattern (11" or more)
  • Almost any design by Dave Hudson
What makes a challenging panto?
  • Designs that are very regular with straight or curved lines that are exactly the same and close to each other so that it's obvious when you're off
  • Tight design - lines are very close together (1/2" or less)
  • Dense design - lots in the design with very little space between design elements - this will take more time
  • Small pattern (< 8") - this will take more advances than a larger pattern

Additional Services

Additional services, such as squaring up the backing and batting, putting on zippers, and performing repairs are available for a small charge.
